We are so thankful to God for the work that has been started the past two winters on Queen Street in Niagara Falls. Serving those who are homeless, hungry and without hope.
With some practical needs being met daily for nourishment and warmth, there is the hope for relationship building and caring for their hearts and souls.
We are currently running a breakfast program for the homeless in conjunction with the Out of the Cold program through Start Me Up Niagara from 7:30-11:00 am at the Third Space Cafe.
As well, we are hosting a warming centre at The Hub from 1:00-5:00 pm daily. This is a place for those who do not have a place to go to get out of the cold.
Starting in April, we want to continue to foster this role, loving the Niagara downtown community.
This is a simple breakfast program at the Third Space and an afternoon cooling centre at The Hub. We also distribute food donations, plus we are planning and implementing a summer art camp/gallery for both children and adults if possible (due to Covid restrictions).
This is run by Glen Sparks and his team of volunteers who have been with us and are committed to serve the community in this way.
There are several partnerships in place; the Soup Kitchen, Faith Fellowship Church, and other like minded organizations in the Niagara Falls downtown community. By working together we can ensure there is nourishment and opportunities for safe places to cool from the summer heat.
It will take a consistent, slow-moving approach to begin to speak to the hearts of the people served. By operating throughout the year, the love of Jesus can be shared with actions and words to those who need to hear.
